A closely watched federal tax case involving the scope of the work-product doctrine has reached the U.S. Supreme Court.

Kannon Shanmugam of Washington, D.C.’s Williams & Connolly recently filed a petition for certiorari on behalf of Textron Inc., an aerospace and defense contractor, asking the justices to resolve a substantial circuit split over the interpretation of the work-product privilege in Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 26(B)(3).
