Tax attorneys are seeing their roles expand because of valuable tax incentives for renewable energy projects provided by the federal economic stimulus package.

Tax attorneys have always been an indispensable practice at any large law firm doing corporate transactions and M&A, but tax lawyers said that with tax incentives available to provide up to 30 percent of a green-energy project’s financing, their advice has become so crucial that they often find themselves taking the lead role.
