Heirs of the late comic writer Jacob Kurtzberg, better known by his pen name Jack Kirby, have retained Marc Toberoff — a thorn in the side of many Hollywood studios — to file copyright claims related to several superheroes.

The New York Times and Los Angeles Times report that 45 notices of copyright termination were sent to Marvel Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox seeking to regain copyright control of certain characters.
