While the World Trade Center twin towers collapsed above on Sept. 11, 2001, Justin S. Anand was trapped underground in a subway train.

At the time, Anand was an associate at the Wall Street firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and worked at the firm’s Liberty Plaza offices within a stone’s throw of the World Trade Center.
