A Hartford, Conn., attorney escaped from her ex-husband after a 13-hour hostage standoff with police that ended late Tuesday night in South Windsor, Conn.

Attorney Nancy Tyler, 57, works at the firm of O’Brien, Tanski & Young in Hartford, where she focuses on defense of medical and dental malpractice claims, according to the firm’s Web site. The site also said she has worked with health care clients on administrative, regulatory and licensure matters.
