One of Adrian Baron’s favorite photos shows Louisiana attorney Peter “P’Ta Mon” Jones leaning against a sleek black Mercedes, wearing sunglasses and flashing his oversized Jamaican-flag belt buckle. It’s an ad for Jones’ legal services and trumpets one of his mottos: “No evidence. No conviction!”

Baron, an attorney in New Britain, Conn., enjoys shedding light on these types of things on his blog The Nutmeg Lawyer, which discusses the “trials and tribulations of law practice.” As part of a post on lawyer advertising, Baron also discussed Georgia lawyer Robert Speer who refers to himself as The Magic Lawyer. Speer’s web site says his office’s mission is “to enrich the community by giving of ourselves in law, magic and as fellow citizens — and to look damn good doing it.”
