Dear Summer: What started out as just another assignment turned out to be one of the most cathartic exercises of my life. When I finally took a moment to think about all that I have experienced up to this point, I was completely amazed by my past and tremendously excited by what lies ahead in the future.
I never knew a single lawyer when I was growing up. My mother worked for a large corporation, while my father, on the other hand, switched jobs so often that I cannot really recall what he did. Neither of them went to college. But here I am finishing up the last week of my Philadelphia Diversity Law Group summer associate experience at a corporate law firm in the great city of Philadelphia.
