Broadcasting videos on social-networking Web sites such as YouTube, MySpace or Facebook is the in thing to do. But Texas lawyers whose videos include solicitations for legal services are likely to receive reminder letters to have the clips reviewed.
Laura Gibson, chairwoman of the Bar’s Advertising Review Committee, says the 12-person committee has been sending notices to nonfilers to remind them that the Bar considers solicitations on such Web sites advertising in the public media.
