Davis v. Davis

The D.C. Court of Appeals affirmed a ruling of the D.C. Superior Court issued on March 19, 2007, in which the trial court dismissed the plaintiff's complaint seeking a divorce without an adjudication of property rights on the ground that the District was an inconvenient forum. Finding the trial court's decision on forum non conveniens to have been "carefully reasoned," the appeals court found no cause to disturb it.

Appellant Robert N. Davis filed in the Superior Court Family Division a complaint in which he sought a divorce from appellee Linda Margarette Williams Davis without an adjudication of property rights. He now challenges the March 19, 2007 ruling of the Superior Court granting appellee’s motion to dismiss the complaint on the ground that the District is an inconvenient forum. We affirm.
