Pinterest dangled a schooner of one-time cash and stock awards to induce Wanji Walcott to give up the legal reins at Discover Financial Services and join the image-sharing platform as chief legal and business affairs officer, a new U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing shows.

Walcott, 54, one of the nation’s most prominent legal chiefs, negotiated the package in September 2022 and jumped aboard Pinterest two months later. But the inducements weren’t paid out until 2023, pushing her pay for that year to $10.34 million, the filing shows.
