An Ohio appellate court affirmed a jury award of over half a million dollars in a medical malpractice suit, concluding the lower court erroneously allowing the jury to consider pieces of evidence wasn’t a per se reversible error.

In an April 2 opinion, authored by Judge Ginger S. Bock for the Ohio First District Court of Appeals, the court overruled assignments of error brought by defendants Dr. Abubakar Atiq Durrani, the Center for Advanced Spine Technologies Inc. (CAST), the West Chester Hospital, and University of Cincinnati (UC) Health.
