When King & Spalding e-discovery attorney Kassi Burns was alerted to a petition calling for the American Bar Association to cease using the term “non-lawyer,” she said her experience working in legal tech with lawyers and technology specialists motivated her to become an early advocate.

“It’s something I feel very impassioned about because I’ve seen some brilliant people who were critical to the technical side of e-discovery,” Burns said. “There are better ways to refer to your colleagues, especially in a profession where words matter.”
