A Maryland-based intellectual property attorney who filed a defamation lawsuit against Amazon for allegedly sending emails to his clients about purported sanctions against him has voluntarily dismissed the case after the online retailer agreed not to send additional notices.

Francis Koh, principal at the Koh Law Firm in Bethesda, Maryland, who has a blemish-free record, has filed thousands of trademark applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and serves both foreign and domestic applicants. He also assisted clients through the Amazon Brand Registry program, which helps brand owners protect their intellectual property rights on Amazon’s marketplace.
