Twinette L. Johnson, who has been acting dean of the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law (UDC)—one of the six American Bar Association-accredited HBCU law schools—for nearly a year, has been named as the law school’s permanent dean.

Johnson served as a professor of law and director of the academic success program before she stepped in as acting dean after Renée McDonald Hutchins left last summer to become dean of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Hutchins had been dean of UDC Law since April 17, 2019.
