As many anxiously await the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on affirmative action—due any day now—a group of law deans is being proactive in expressing their continual commitment to diversity.

On Wednesday, 15 laws deans from 12 law schools signed a statement, saying, “We are deans of Big Ten law schools, joining together to affirm our commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion through legally permissible means, regardless of the outcome of the cases pending before the U.S. Supreme Court,” according to the statement posted to Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law’s website.
