Several Nebraska officials and its Legislature were hit with a lawsuit last week challenging its new bill limiting access to gender-affirming health care for transgender youth and access to abortion.

The American Civil Liberties Union and its Nebraska branch are representing the Planned Parenthood of Heartland and Dr. Sarah Traxler, the chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood North Central States and a physician who provides abortion, in a new suit challenging the state Legislature’s new bill, called LB 574, combining new abortion restrictions and new limitations on gender-related health care for transgender youth.
