A federal grand jury on Friday indicted former Trump White House adviser Stephen Bannon on contempt of Congress charges for defying a subpoena from the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 mob attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Bannon was charged with two counts of contempt, one for his refusal to appear for a deposition and another for declining to hand over documents to the committee.
