Alex Dimitrief is a principal consultant with Zeughauser Group, but he was a “big law” partner and a Fortune 500 general counsel before joining the consultants’ ranks. This experience enables him to offer a two-sided view of the billing process for legal services. ALM Intelligence recently published Dimitrief’s Fellows report, “Billing Can Be So Much More Than a Necessary Evil”, available exclusively on Law.com Pro.

In his paper, Dimitrief draws on his experiences in both law firms and legal departments, writing that “law firms can no longer afford to view billing and budgeting as necessary evils or relegate them to backroom administrators”. His Fellows report addresses various ways that law firms can leverage the billing and budgeting process to improve client relations and meet client expectations.
