Centripetal Networks Inc. scored a $1.9 billion judgment Monday against Cisco Systems Inc. in the first virtual bench trial in a patent infringement case.
U.S. District Judge Henry Morgan of the Eastern District of Virginia found that Cisco willfully infringed Centripetal’s cybersecurity patents and awarded 2.5 times the actual damages of about $750 million.
