An in-house lawyer at tech firm Manhattan Associates who was arrested Monday for murder in connection with what police called a “quickly escalating” fatal traffic encounter has hired a high-profile criminal defense lawyer.
After turning himself in Monday, Bryan Schmitt of Sandy Springs, Georgia, waived his first court appearance Tuesday on charges of murder, felony murder and aggravated assault, according to Fulton County, Georgia, jail records. Bail was denied.
