Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr has retained Jeffrey Harris of Consovoy McCarthy in Washington, D.C., to defend the state in a constitutional challenge to an abortion ban set to take effect Jan. 1.
Harris will serve as a special assistant attorney general for the lawsuit, a spokeswoman for the Georgia AG’s office said Tuesday. She declined to comment further on the appointment.
