Bryan Tyson has resigned his politically appointed job as executive director of the Georgia Public Defender Council, and announced his return to private practice.

“While I’ll handle the transition of GPDC to a new director appointed by a new Governor in January, I am returning to private practice,” Tyson announced Wednesday on Facebook. He said he will return to the firm where he worked before, Strickland Brockington Lewis, handling appellate and voting rights cases. He also will launch a new venture for election-related consulting, Tyson Strategies.
