Companies pulled back on pay and bonuses last year after showering in-house talent with cash in 2021, according to the latest annual in-house compensation trends report from executive search firm BarkerGilmore.

The report, which is based on responses from 3,800 corporate counsel in seven industries across the United States, reflects a more tempered approach to compensation following a record year of profits and hiring.
