A group of Indian lawyers are seeking government action against 31 foreign law firms and a legal process outsourcing (LPO) company for illegally practising law “out of five-star hotels and business centres”, reports The Am Law Daily.

A petition for a writ compelling the Indian Government to act against foreign lawyers has been filed in the Madras High Court on behalf of a group called the Association of Indian Lawyers. Among the firms named in the writ are Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance (CC), Shearman & Sterling and White & Case.
