Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s chief executive, Hugh Crisp, is to step down once the firm has elected a new senior partner, it was announced last week (14 October).

Crisp, who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the magic circle firm, cited family reasons. He will formally step down from the role at the end of the financial year and is likely to continue as a partner at the firm.
