US giants pay out $225m in bid to close book on controversial tax shelter allegations

Sidley Austin Brown & Wood and KPMG have agreed to pay out $225m (£127.6m) to settle claims arising from the ‘cookie cutter’ tax shelter class action.
The settlement has been jointly agreed by the two firms with plaintiff powerhouse Milberg Weiss Bershad & Shulman.
