The Commerce & Industry (C&I) Group has replaced its two Law Society council representatives with its own candidates, potentially sparking a row at the UK’s main body for corporate counsel.

Shell UK head of legal Richard Wiseman and chief executive of LBC Wise Counsel Paul Gilbert have been replaced on the council as C&I Group representatives by the group’s chair, Stanley Williams, and Best Foods Holdings’ head of legal Dawood Pervez.
