The Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer, has given his clearest indication yet that the Government is to press ahead with fundamental reform of the legal profession in response to Sir David Clementi’s eagerly awaited report.

In an interview with Legal Week a year after he took office at the Department for Constitutional Affairs, Falconer said that he expected to push though legislation in the wake of Clementi’s report as early as next year.
