Charles ChristianIt is all a question of perspective. If you ask a lawyer what they do for a living, most will tell you that they practice law and, if they are really pompous, they will claim to be a key part of the justice system.

Both are incorrect answers because what lawyers actually do is work in the legal services business and spend most of their working days shuffling pieces of paper – either actual paper or virtual digital files – from one pile to another. In fact, in some practices if you are a trainee solicitor, then in your early years you are going to have more exposure to the workings of a photocopier than to the workings of the law.
