A trio of Halliwells partners have left the firm to launch a Manchester base for insurance litigation specialist Plexus Law. Insurance liability partners Chris Gough, Tim Short and Louise Shaw are in the process of looking for premises in Manchester and expect to be fully operational within the next two months. Plexus said it plans to expand the new Manchester base to a total of 18 lawyers within the next 18 months.

Russell Jones & Walker has tied up with insurer Hiscox to launch a business which will provide insurance cover and advice for lawyers and business executives undergoing regulatory difficulties. The business, which was launched at beginning of last month (1 October), includes two new products called 4Expertprotect and 4Execprotect, targeted at lawyers and business directors respectively. Russell Jones will offer advice and help in relation to financial and regulatory issues such as white-collar crime, with Hiscox providing insurance.
