Bar associations and their human rights arms have spoken out following the death of imprisoned Russian opposition leader and lawyer Alexei Navalny.
“For his bravery in standing for the Rule of Law, democracy and human rights, a target was placed on Alexei Navalny’s back,” said Anne Ramberg Dr Jur hc, co-chair of the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) and former Secretary General of the Swedish Bar Association.
