Douglas Clark, a former head of global disputes practice at U.K. intellectual property firm Rouse, will be joining Hong Kong independent law firm Tanner De Witt as a partner to build its IP practice and to help expand its arbitration practice on September 1, Clark told Law.com International.

Fluent in Mandarin, Clark joined Rouse in 2020 after spending more than eight years as a barrister at Gilt Chambers, specializing in patent, trademark, copyright and unfair competition cases in Hong Kong. Prior to Gilt, which he joined in 2011, Clark had practiced for 18 years first as an associate and later a partner at Hogan Lovells, where he held several different roles including as the firm’s head of IP in China, Shanghai managing partner, as well as its global head of the patent group.
