Dentons bolstered its banking and finance, capital markets and corporate finance capabilities with the hire of Nicholas Chua as a partner in Hong Kong. Chua joins from Malaysia-based CIMB Bank, where he was most recently the head of legal in Hong Kong and the global head of legal for investment banking in the region. 

Having practiced as an associate at White & Case and Baker McKenzie before going in-house, Chua has served in senior legal roles at international and regional financial institutions. These include working as regional counsel at Dutch bank ABN AMRO, and serving as the head of legal for origination at the Royal Bank of Scotland before joining CIMB in 2012.
