The head count in Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo’s two-month-old Toronto office now totals 16 lawyers with the addition of tax partner Katy Pitch, the firm said Tuesday.

While it is close to its hiring goal, head count growth has not occurred as quickly as the firm initially planned. That plan was ambitous: When Mintz launched its first Canadian office, which is also its first non-U.S. outpost in March, it said it would have 20 lawyers by the end of April.
