The fast-moving advancements in generative artificial intelligence that brought OpenAI’s ChatGPT and other humanlike chatbots to the world in recent months have also renewed attempts by regulators to place guardrails on these technologies.

Though most countries agree on the main risks that generative AI can pose to users, specifically in regards to data privacy and security, it’s clear that not all are taking the same approach to curb such concerns.
