Whilst the pace of law firm mergers is yet to match pre-pandemic levels, 2022 has seen an uptick in merger activity in the U.K. market with the Clyde & Co and BLM merger (combined revenue approximately £700m) being the largest to be announced to date.

Both firms are heavily insurance focused—but operating at different ends of the market spectrum, with Clyde & Co enjoying a leading reputation in high-end advisory and complex insurance litigation work, whilst BLM is better known for its volume defence practice.
