White & Case, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, and several elite French firms are among the advisers on a €600 million share purchase that could lead to one of the biggest media mergers in Europe later in 2022.

Vivendi, the French-based conglomerate that owns Canal+, and the Havas publishing group, agreed to buy a 17.9% stake in Lagardère, the owner of Hachette Publishing and other media assets, from the hedge fund Amber Capital for €610 million.
