In a year that saw a record $5.9 trillion in M&A deal value globally, there was plenty of work to go around. Among the Big Law firms that typically do the lion’s share of that work, there was some shuffling of the leaders this year.

Sullivan & Cromwell topped the charts this year with $662 billion across 251 deals for an 11.3% share of market value, according to the final league tables from Refinitiv. In the 2020 league tables, it was the No. 3 firm.
