Qualified in both New York and China, Yan represents multinational and Chinese clients in investigations by U.S. and Chinese government agencies, with a focus on life sciences companies. Her practice also includes product liability and cross-border litigation.

Gary Giampetruzzi, global chair of Paul Hastings’ life sciences and healthcare practice, said in a statement that Yan’s arrival further strengthens the firm’s capabilities in China and across the Asia-Pacific.

Yan will be working closely with Hong Kong litigation of counsel Sarah Zhu, who recently joined the firm from Ropes & Gray. She will also be working with Hong Kong partner Shaun Wu who leads Paul Hastings’ Asia investigations and white-collar defense practice, and Shanghai corporate partner Sophie Han.

Earlier this month, the firm saw Shanghai partner and life sciences specialist Tang Haiyan leave for Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.

In June last year, Paul Hastings launched a life sciences consulting group to offer clients a one-stop-shop service made up of both life sciences consultants and lawyers.
