Another Jones Day partner has exited the firm's London office, this time to join challenger law firm McCarthy Denning.

Justin Conway, a partner in the firm's restructuring practice, departed the U.S. firm at the end of January, according to a person with knowledge of the move.

Conway had been a partner at Jones Day since 2014, when he joined from DLA Piper after a two-year stint at the firm. He had formerly been a director and senior counsel at Goldman Sachs International, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Conway's departure comes hot on the heels of private equity partner Raymond McKeeve, who exited the firm last month. McKeeve has since joined aviation-focused investment firm, Cingo Global, as the firm's group chief transaction and legal officer.

Jones Day has seen a number of partner departures across its European offices in recent months. In November, corporate partner Fabrizio Faina left the Milan office to join McDermott Will & Emery, and in the previous month Paris-based international arbitration co-leader Michael Buhler exited to join to Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe.

In 2018, the firm lost a string of London partners including private equity partner Mike Weir to White & Case, disputes partner Lucas Moore to Payne Hicks Beach, and real estate partner Alex Millar to Travers Smith.

In a statement, McCarthy Denning CEO Warren Wooldridge said: "Justin is joining the growing ranks of lawyers who have joined McCarthy Denning in order to shun the traditional law firm archetype, and who instead choose to work for a firm that is focused on the needs of the client and where lawyers are empowered to work with agility, autonomy and flexibility."

Jones Day declined to comment.
