This session will use case studies to illustrate how various analytics can identify patterns in data, uncover hidden relationships between people and events, translate coded language, and organize disparate information into logical groups and concepts—helping investigators find the signal in the noise.

Join us for an exciting session on how AI is driving another patent boom. We’ll take a deep dive into the various interdisciplinary fields of AI, including computer vision, deep learning, robotic process automation, and neural networks. Learn what differentiates these categories in terms of utility and patent eligibility.

The cloning of online marketplaces and eCommerce sites that peddle in illegal merchandise and counterfeits is proliferating and nearly impossible to track on a manual basis. In this session, we turn the tables on these illicit operators. We will examine how computer vision, a subset of AI, is being smartly leveraged to track and remove illegal content and fakes like it’s a walk in the park.

This session will explore new applications of legal technology tools for identifying sensitive data, such as personally identifiable information, banking information, and healthcare records, and redacting, anonymizing or otherwise remediating that information.

This session will delve into these international data protection laws, foreign blocking statutes, and choice-of-law issues and how they impact legal matters in the U.S.

In this session, we will explore the proliferation of automated workflow tools in patent drafting & prosecution. Case studies will detail how patent lawyers are successfully leveraging these tools, as well as some of the limitations and hype surrounding automation. We will also examine the downward economics of depleting patent law practices, and how automation can be utilized to revamp workflow & revenues.

Leaders of law firms and law departments alike often lament their inability to get buy-in from partners and staff on anything from new technologies and processes to new business structures. Their jobs are as much psychologists as lawyers. We walk through two case studies, from a law firm and a law department, to highlight what successful change management looks like in action.
