Mr. Cohen is a graduate of Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1973. From 1971 to 1972, Mr. Cohen attended the University of Exeter, England. He graduated from The John Marshall Law School, Chicago, with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1977, and is admitted to the Illinois Bar.
Mr. Cohen was admitted to the California Bar in 1982, and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Central District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Cohen is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and its sections for commercial law and remedies. Before joining Tyre Kamins Katz & Granof, Mr. Cohen was a partner of a prominent Los Angeles firm specializing in textile and apparel practice in Los Angeles and New York.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Cohen was associated with the retail menswear division of a leading Southern California department store chain, and finished first in its executive development training program. He is an invited member of the Executive Committee of the Remedies Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Financial Lawyers Conference, Bankruptcy Forum, and Textile Professional Club, having served on its Executive Board and as President.
Mr. Cohen's fields of expertise are in the areas of commercial, business, and intellectual property litigation, leasing law and provisional and post judgment remedies.
