Dr. Brian Russell

Licensed Psychologist & Lawyer

“Dr. Brian” Russell has become one of America’s most recognizable psychologists and lawyers. He has been a featured expert on multiple national television networks including CBS, CNN, Fox News, the Hallmark Channel, HLN, MSNBC and others since 2006, and he has co-hosted the hit series “Fatal Vows,” spotlighting domestic violence, on Investigation Discovery since 2012. He also has been a featured expert on the “Dr. Oz” show and a regular on “Crime Stories with Nancy Grace” on SiriusXM radio.

As a psychologist, Dr. Brian has practiced both clinically and forensically, treating adults and children and serving as an expert in criminal and civil legal matters. As an attorney, he has represented clients in high- and low-profile criminal and civil cases and has served as a mediator, litigation consultant, and advisor to lawmakers on issues involving mental health and crime. He's also a strong supporter and advocate of veterans, first-responders, and children's mental health.

Dr. Brian has written numerous articles on psychological and legal topics including a regular Newsmax column, “The Dr. Is In,” as well as the book Stop Moaning, Start Owning: How Entitlement is Ruining America and How Personal Responsibility Can Fix It. He also provides executive leadership-development and risk-management consultation to organizations, and he coaches family-business owners on how to separate their family issues from their financial issues.

When he's off the air, Dr. Brian loves travel and the outdoors. He has visited all seven continents and dozens of countries, and he feels like he has learned as much from seeing those places and meeting the people who live there as he learned in all the years of formal schooling that he completed. Originally from Kansas City, he now resides at the Lake of the Ozarks (of Netflix’s “Ozark” fame).
