Kole, author of Avoiding Bad Depositions, will raise the key issues you should be aware of when deciding to take a deposition, preparing your questions, preparing your witness, and taking and defending depositions. You'll gain practical insight and tactics on how to spot and avoid potential pitfalls.

Janet S. Kole

Litigator & Author
American Bar Association

Janet S. Kole was a litigator for over thirty years. She was named a Super Lawyer for environmental litigation, and received an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell. She has been asked to serve as an expert in several litigation matters, and has spoken and written widely on the law. She has written for publications as diverse as ABA Journal, Litigation Journal, Litigation News (of which she served as editor in chief) and Harper's Bazaar. She has been active in ABA leadership since 1982.

She has written a series of four books for young lawyers on the basics of litigation practice, published by the ABA, the most recent of which is "Avoiding Bad Depositions." She now writes full time, and spends her leisure time on the golf course or on boats.

She is a cum laude graduate of Bryn Mawr College, received her M.A. from New York University, and graduated magna cum laude from the James Beasley School of Law at Temple University.
