Philadelphia’s tight restrictions on campaign finance have precluded attorneys at a number of the city’s largest law firms from participating in the local political process, including the upcoming mayoral election, through campaign contributions.

Case in point: of the 11 large firms currently holding city contracts, only five were home to personnel who made significant donations to candidates running for mayor. Of those who donated, many were firm leaders rather than rank-and-file attorneys.
