The U.S. Senate voted 53-35 to confirm Tamika Montgomery-Reeves to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on Monday.

Montgomery-Reeves is set to become the second Black woman on the Third Circuit bench, with her confirmation coming just two and a half months after that of Arianna Freeman, the first Black woman to serve as a judge in the court.
