The Judge Judy Sheindlin Honors Scholars Program has been established at the New York Law School to benefit women in law because, as Sheindlin told Law.com on Thursday, she wanted to use the ”wonderful things” that have happened to her in her own career to help nurture female law students.

Sheindlin made a legacy gift to the school from which she graduated in 1965; from which her daughter, Nicole, graduated in 1993; and from which her granddaughter, Sarah Rose, is expected to graduate this spring.
