A lawyer representing Steve Bannon wants to withdraw on the eve of trial because he “might” be called as a defense witness as the former Trump associate battles contempt of Congress charges.

Robert Costello, a partner at the New York firm Davidoff, Hutcher & Citron who represented Bannon in his dealings with the House Jan. 6 select committee, filed a motion to withdraw on Friday.
