A Connecticut federal district court judge granted preliminary approval in a nationwide class action involving the intersection of discharged military veterans and some debilitating mental health decay.

Brandon Baum and Amelia Dunnell, second-year students at Yale Law School, are working under professor Michael J. Wishnie, who heads the Veterans Legal Services Clinic at the university. They see the underlying case as a way to hold the U.S. military to account.
