The Connecticut Appellate Court has issued a mixed ruling in a rare joint products liability and medical malpractice case. It affirmed a $1 million jury verdict for a woman who suffered burns to her left foot and several toes after a heat lamp came in contact with her during an acupuncture treatment.

The Appellate Court issued a 3-0 ruling on Friday overturning the jury verdict and dismissing liability against acupuncturist Reed Wang and his employer, the Center for Women’s Health P.C., on the medical malpractice side.
